Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Nature of Services

BetterYOUSA connects clients with trained and registered South African wellness professionals for personal development, emotional support, life coaching, career guidance, relationship support, and general wellness. These services are not clinical mental health treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or medical services.

2. Professional Qualifications

BetterYOUSA wellness professionals hold formal qualifications in counselling or psychology and are registered with recognized South African professional bodies such as the HPCSA or ASCHP. They are not licensed mental health providers in the United States and will not provide clinical diagnoses, treatment plans, or medication management.

3. Not an Emergency Service

BetterYOUSA is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or thoughts of harming yourself or others, please call 911, contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988), or go to your nearest emergency room. You may also reach our admin team at (929) 346-6429.

4. Payments & Cancellations

Sessions are charged at $80 per session. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a session receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session or no-shows are non-refundable.

5. No Guaranteed Outcomes

BetterYOUSA does not guarantee specific outcomes or results from any session. Results vary based on individual circumstances and effort.

6. Confidentiality

Information shared during sessions is kept confidential except when required by law, when necessary to prevent imminent harm, or when abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult is suspected.

7. Cross-Border Data

Your personal information will be shared with your wellness professional who is located in South Africa. By booking a session, you consent to this international transfer of your information.

8. SMS Program

By providing your phone number and checking the SMS consent boxes on our booking form, you agree to receive text messages from BetterYOUSA. Our SMS program includes two distinct categories of messages.

Transactional Messages: appointment confirmations, session reminders, follow-up communications from your assigned wellness practitioner, account notifications, and service updates related to your bookings.

Marketing Messages (separate consent required): promotional offers, new service announcements, event invitations, and other marketing communications.

Each category requires separate consent collected through independent, unchecked-by-default checkboxes on the booking form. Neither is required to complete a booking.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on your usage and consent. Typical volume is 1 to 4 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan. BetterYOUSA does not charge for SMS messages.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. You can also contact us at office@betteryousa.com or (929) 346-6429 to manage your SMS preferences.

No Sharing

BetterYOUSA does not share, sell, or distribute mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information to any third party or affiliate.

Carrier Liability

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

SMS Consent Is Not Required

SMS consent is never a condition of booking, paying for, or using any BetterYOUSA service.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and a US resident to opt in to SMS communications.
