FOR BETTERYOUSA THERAPISTS

Reference material for active therapists on the platform. Refreshed as we go.
PLATFORM OUTLINE
When the platform comes up: talking points.
Use these when a client asks about cost, vetting, scheduling, or how the platform works. Do not bring these up unprompted. Therapy is for the client, not for marketing the platform.
When a client asks about cost or affordability
The session is $80, with no subscription and no ongoing commitment. The client only pays for the sessions they book.
If they comment that it feels affordable compared to therapy they've seen elsewhere: that's because BetterYOUSA pays therapists fairly while keeping the price reachable for clients who'd otherwise go without. Some platforms cut therapist pay to make the price low. BetterYOUSA doesn't.
If they ask about insurance: BetterYOUSA does not bill insurance. Clients can request a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement if their plan allows it. Don't promise reimbursement -- it depends on their plan.
When a client asks how you got involved
Honest, brief answer. Something like: "BetterYOUSA reached out to me. I went through their vetting process. I liked that they paid their therapists properly, so I joined."
Don't oversell. Don't read from a script. The fact that you stayed is the endorsement.
When a client asks how therapists are vetted
Every therapist on BetterYOUSA holds a relevant credential (counseling, social work, psychology, or equivalent professional training). Every therapist has signed the BetterYOUSA Code of Ethics. The platform vets credentials before onboarding and reviews client feedback regularly.
If a client wants more detail: direct them to their therapist's profile on the BetterYOUSA site for credentials and approach.
When a client asks about scheduling, rescheduling, or cancellation
Bookings can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 48 hours before the session via the link in their calendar invite. Inside 48 hours, the session is non-refundable. Direct them to office@betteryousa.com if they hit a friction point.
When a client asks "is this therapy?"
This is one to be careful with. If you are a licensed clinician operating under your licensure, answer accurately for your scope. If you are working as a wellness coach on the platform (not under a clinical license), the answer is: "This is professional wellness support, not clinical therapy. I'm not diagnosing or treating clinical conditions. If you need that, I'll help you find the right referral."
Never blur the line. Clients deserve to know what they're getting.
When a client is in crisis
This is not a platform conversation. Use your training. If the client is at imminent risk, follow your standard crisis protocol: 988 in the US, ER referral, mandated reporting where applicable. BetterYOUSA is not an emergency service and you should not pretend it can be one.
After the session, email office@betteryousa.com with a brief note (no clinical details) so the team is aware.
What not to do
- Don't bring up the platform unprompted. The session belongs to the client, not to BetterYOUSA. - Don't ask clients to leave reviews during a session. If they want to, they'll do it. - Don't ask clients to refer friends from inside a session. There's an automated post-session email that handles referral asks. Let it do its job. - Don't compare BetterYOUSA to other platforms by name. If a client raises a comparison, listen, don't pitch. - Don't share your personal contact info or move the relationship off-platform. All scheduling and communication stays in BetterYOUSA's system. This protects you legally and protects the client.
If the client asks, answer honestly and briefly. If the client doesn't ask, don't sell.
